Maxtrans London - 32 CCTV Camera System. Link To Their Web Site
A secure storage provider and logistics company for local and international customers in the fine art industry have implemented the bespoke Orbital CCTV system into their headoffice and warehouse located at. Maxtrans took over the infamous "Brinks Matt" building where £26 million in gold bullion was stolen in November 1983. The Orbital CCTV system has been installed to monitor and record 24 hours a day all storeage and access areas with a special "Post Motion Detection" feature to allow the user to jump to a section of video playback "after the fact" where the camera image has changed to help identify the removal of a piece of art from the video image. The CCTV system has been linked to 20 existing analog CCTV cameras and 12 new state of the art full colour IP based CCTV cameras will be installed in a mixture of fixed position, pan, tilt and zoom both indoors and outdoors giving a total of a 32 CCTV camera system.

Pedigree run championship dog shows
throughout the country all year round using a mobile show stand and shop. They
approached us over 5 years ago, to develop a special EPoS solution for them to
control the sales and stock for their dog shows and for "Crufts". What is unique
about the system we designed for them is that Pedigree sell the products, or
give them away as prizes or samples. This required the system to be able to
differentiate between these 3 different methods for sales analysis but treating
them as the same product for stock control.
Another major part of the
system is to control the stock that is kept on their "Artic Lorries" in
the car parks. This allows their customers to pay for the products at the
"Show Stand" but collect the products from the lorry in the car park when
they leave the show. The system in this scenario does not allow the
cashiers to "Oversell" any of the products that are stocked on the lorry.
Another consideration was
the EPoS hardware that was to be supplied. This equipment had to handle
the system being set-up and dismantled every week and had to withstand the
outside weather conditions and temperatures. They currently use 2 sales
terminals and 1 prize/sample terminal.
Meadow Hall

We were approached by Meadow Hall to
provide a unique solution to track the delivery and sales of their "Gift
Cheques" that can be redeemed at most of the shops within the shopping
centre. Additionally, we had to interface sales data exported from their
"Bank System" so that the EPoS system can record where and when each gift
cheque was redeemed.
The system was modified
to record the unique cheque number for either the £5 or £10 gift cheque
when they receive them from the bank. Each time a gift cheque is sold at
the information desk or corporate desk, the system requires them to "Scan
The Serial Number" barcode on the first and last cheque. The system then
automatically calculates the number of gift cheques sold and the value to
be paid by the customer.
Each gift cheque sold has
to be validated by the EPoS system, which prints the expiry date for the
gift cheque.
The EPoS system was
developed using the IBM SurePOS 500 Touch Screen unit and receipt/slip
printer.
The EPoS system was
introduced in the second year of their project and nearly 1/2 million gift
cheques have already been sold.
National Express.
The United Kingdoms largest
scheduled coach company, Orbital was sourced to supply a special cash drawer
that was required for their new ticket counter re-fit for their bus station
terminals all over the United Kingdom that could be operated manually or by
connection to a receipt printer.
Jersey Zoo (Durrell
Wildlife Conservation Trust). Link To Their Web Site
Durrell Wildlife required an EPoS
solution for sales and stock control, that would also integrate with their
existing 10,500 membership cards giving an automatic discount for
admissions to the zoo or products purchased in the zoo's gift shop. The
use 2 Epson IR-310 terminals at the zoo's admissions desk and 2 terminals
in the zoo's gift shop.
Members of the Durrell
Wildlife committee came to England for a few day's to visit a some of our
customers to see at first hand, the EPoS system in operation and to get
the customers own opinion of Orbital EPoS Systems Limited as a company to
deal with and support them. Their decision had to then be discussed and
agreed with the Durrell committee before the order was placed with
Orbital.

A computer company supplying end of line
and factory refurb cameras, computers and related peripherals. Morgans have
4 retail shops in London Greenford, Birmingham
and Manchester. They also have a mail order centre in
Birmingham for mail orders, internet sales and auction sales. A central
head office/warehouse based in Greenford distributes the stock to the
retail shops and directly to customers for mail order or internet sales.

Ealing Council Planning Office.
First
customer using SoftRegister. A specialist application was developed for the
control of funds for planning fees. The SoftRegister system also records
customer information relating to each planning fee transaction with special
details printed on the receipt.
Christies Piccadilly.
The world
famous Christies auctioneers, using SoftRegister to control the sales and
stock of Christies catalogues and special events.

Kavah Internet Cafe.
Using
SoftRegister, a bespoke module was written to track for each customer time
spent on a computer on the internet and to calculate the correct charge to
be applied, depending on being a member, non member, student or senior
citizen. The modulae was also designed to apply different charge bands
depending on the time of day and amount of time spent.

The Flower Station.
The "First Of It's Kind In England", a "Drive
Through" flower shop. Orbital was approached to provide an EPoS solution for the
shop, using the Modular EPoS Terminal for sales and stock control.
For security, our
"Internet Access Security Camera System" was installed, recording
digitally images from the outside fourcourt camera and the inside shop
camera. Both camera's can be accessed on any computer on the internet
anywhere in the world in "Real Time". This allows the owner of the
business to see how busy the flowerstation is.
